Season

Every summer from the end of June to the end of September we arrange guided hikes to the top Møysalen 1264 meters above sea level – the original Møysalen hike.

Experienced mountain guides

Experienced mountain guides from Møysalen Nasjonalparksenter will take you on a great nature experience up to the highest mountain in Vesterålen.

Boat transport

The tour starts with a boat trip from Hennes to Lonkanfjorden. Here you will truly experience the feeling of hiking from the sea level to "the roof of the sky"!

Arrive in good time.

Practical information

The day tour starts at 9 am – arrive in good time for registration and information.

The tour takes approx. 10 hours and starts with ab20 min. boat trip to the idyllic Lonkanfjord. In Lonkanfjord we have our own floating pier for embarking and disembarking.

No special equipment is required, but dress appropriately for the conditions and wear hiking boots, preferably with ankle support. Poles are recommended, otherwise bring your own clothing according to the weather conditions.

Bring food and drinks for 2+ breaks. There are good opportunities to refill with fresh and clean mountain water along the way up to about 650 meters above sea level.

You should be in good physical shape and preferably somewhat used to hiking in the mountains. The hike to Møysalen should therefore not be your first hike of the year. In some slightly demanding parts, the hike can feel quite "airy", but our mountain guides will help those who may find the altitude intimidating. Should the hike become too difficult, you can stop whenever you want and wait there until the rest of the group has returned from the summit.

A certain physical condition is required, and if someone is unable to maintain a relatively normal pace, the tour may be interrupted for them.
